Ikea Bahrain has announced it will lower prices for more than 1,500 products.

A statement said that the company has made a decision to lower its prices on products and services for consumers in the Bahraini market, following a drop in global shipping and manufacturing costs.

The company will also reduce its service charges, which include the installation of furniture as well.

The statement added that “not only did Ikea Bahrain reduce the prices of 1,500 products, but they also invested in improving their delivery service speed and prices. Customers will receive their parcel delivery within four hours at very low rates, for store and online orders.”

Meanwhile in the UAE, Ikea had announced that it will not increase prices at its UAE branches. In Oman, the company entered the Omani market in June last year.

Commenting on the price reductions, Ikea Bahrain store manager Vincent van Herk stated, “Ikea is known for their commitment to providing quality items at an affordable price and this move further strengthens that reputation. It is hoped that other companies follow suit and work to provide lower cost options to their customers during this challenging time.”

Besides the overall long-term investments in affordability, Ikea Bahrain will also launch a sale campaign on 1,100 products during the Islamic month of Shaban so people can get their homes ready before the month of Ramadan.

The 37,000 square metre store in Bahrain’s Salmabad area was established in 2018, with a workforce consisting of 70 per cent Bahraini nationals. It is operated by Saudi furniture retailing company Ghassan Ahmad Al Sulaiman Furniture Trading Company.
