A bus stop in Dubai Design District has been transformed into a sustainable living space, thanks to Swedish-Dutch furniture store IKEA.
The IKEA Sustainable Container hopes to inspire a healthier and more environmentally friendly lifestyle.
Part of Dubai Design Week, taking place until November 13, IKEA’s sustainable container provides everyday solutions where wellbeing is front of mind.
Open to the public until November 30, the IKEA Sustainable Container has been designed as a living space and fully functioning bus stop.
Designed by interior experts, the container is created using only IKEA materials, complete with fresh flowers on the wall and ceiling. An installed air purifier and aesthetic textiles also helps to invoke a feeling of serenity and breezy winds.
The container also promotes sustainable living, with lots of information available to visitors on ways to help save the planet and lower emissions, as well as advice on recycling and product reuse.
