EROS launches product exchange programme for back-to-school festival

Electronics retailer EROS has launched its back-to-school festival across the UAE, offering customers the option to exchange their products for new devices.

Students and teachers can save up to AED600 when trading laptops and AED200 when trading mobile phones.

Other electronic products, such as laptops, mobiles, tablets, headphones, wearables and smartwatches, can also be exchanged.

“Back-to-school spending is at an all-time high and a cause for concern for most parents,” said Mohammad Badri, director of the EROS Group.

“There is a greater demand for technology purchases, as parents splurge on premium gadgets every year to ensure their child has the best.

“Having the latest tech within reach and at discounted prices can help students achieve academic success.”

Various offers and promotions are also available across certain items in-store and online.

When spending at least AED500, shoppers can enter a raffle draw to win a Samsung Galaxy Watch 4.

Also available to win are vouchers worth up to AED200 from Rehlat Travel, Kuwaiti-based travel agency.

Users of debit or credit cards issued by the Commercial Bank of Dubai will receive a 10 per cent discount.

“Being mindful of our customers’ rising expenses, we have offers and discounts both online and at the store,” Mr Badri said.

Earlier this year, EROS opened its 14th and 15th stores in Dubai Hills Mall and Ibn Battuta Mall.

The openings are part of the retailer’s multi-billion-dirham strategy to expand its operations and support the local retail economy by creating more jobs.

More stores will open across the UAE throughout the year.

In December, EROS increased its focus on e-commerce. Products from EROS Digital Home, the group’s division offering primarily home appliances, were added to www.eros.ae to boost sales and improve logistics and product delivery.

“Consumer buying trends in retail and e-commerce business have changed after the Covid-19 pandemic introduced a new lifestyle and work culture in the past two years,” Mr Badri told Khaleej Times.

“We have aligned our business strategy in line with the market trends to cater to our consumers’ needs.”

The strategy was met with increased online orders.

“Online sales contribute 20 to 25 per cent to our business annually. We will see another 10 to 15 per cent growth in online sales over the next two years,” Mr Badri said.
