In partnership with educational play centre Cuckoo’s, Mall of the Emirates has introduced a ‘drop-and-shop’ service, Yehhal Zeman Awwal, where parents can drop off their children while shopping.

Located within the mall’s Emirati culture hub, Zeman Awwal, Yehhal Zeman Awwal hosts activities for children to learn about UAE heritage and traditions.

Children can participate in numerous arts and crafts activities, including creating jewellery pieces and henna designs.

They can also learn traditional UAE dances, play Emirati folk games and listen and sing along to Emirati music.

Also available are storytelling sessions about traditional Emirati folktales and puppet shows.

“The UAE is a country full of rich culture and heritage that reflects traditional Arab values which we are proud to celebrate,” said Hussain Moosa, director of Mall of the Emirates at Majid Al Futtaim Properties.

“With the summer holidays now here, there is no better time to educate younger members of the family with these values, whilst learning about the vibrant history of the nation.

“We know from our insights that shoppers are looking for more diverse family-oriented experiences and kid-friendly spaces in their mall, so we are delighted to take the drop and shop experience and turn this into an enriching, educational and cultural experience for children that can be enjoyed all year round.”

Parents can drop off their children between the ages of three and nine at Yehhal Zeman Awwal between 1pm and 10pm.

Located in the Fashion Dome on Level 2 of the mall, Zeman Awwal showcases traditional cultural heritage practices and hosts daily entertainment.

Spanning 1,100 square metres and features nine distinct areas displaying elements of UAE heritage, including exhibitions with art made by local designers, a traditional Emirati souk and a Majlis cinema showing Emirati films.

Zeman Awwal hosts an exclusive costume exhibit in partnership with The Zay initiative, pop art from local and international artists and various installations inspired by the ocean and desert.

Visitors can also purchase jewellery, fashion products and arts and crafts items made by home-grown brands and local artists at Zeman Awwal’s marketplace.
