In anticipation of students returning to schools, Carrefour UAE, operated by Majid Al Futtaim, is hosting its All In One Go campaign until the end of August

Clothing and school supplies, such as stationery, electronics and backpacks, are discounted up to 50 per cent, with other items, such as lunchboxes, starting at AED11.

Members of Majid Al Futtaim’s loyalty programme, SHARE, can receive additional discounts of up to 30 per cent when purchasing products from certain brands, such as Sharpie, Maxi and Post.

“Convenience and competitive prices are the main two factors that control consumer habits when choosing where to shop,” said Christophe Orcet, head of commercial operations at Carrefour UAE.

“Therefore, this year, we decided to focus on offering our customers the best value all in one go.

“Parents will be able to find all their kids’ school essentials in one place, paying one bill and collecting meaningful rewards along the way.

Shoppers who spend at least AED50 are eligible to win several prizes, such as an electric scooter, an iPad or a family trip to Disneyland in Paris.

“There are also many activities and prizes to compliment the retail experience at Carrefour to make shopping enjoyable for the whole family,” Mr Orcet added.

While the pandemic limited purchases of school supplies, relaxed restrictions and students’ return to in-person learning is expected to increase sales.

“For the last two years, virtual classes have affected back-to-school season enormously, with stationery sales dropping by almost 50 per cent in 2020, before recovering slightly in 2021,” said Mr Orcet.

“Interestingly, the demand for stationery was compensated by electronics as parents prepared for home schooling with printers, toners, laptops, tablets and more.

“This year, we expect stationery sales to reach pre-pandemic levels as students return to the classroom and we are proud to be supporting families across the UAE.”

The campaign runs across all Carrefour branches in the country and its e-commerce channels.

Carrefour’s operator, Majid Al Futtaim, is participating in Dubai Summer Surprises, which runs until September 4.

Across Mall of the Emirates, City Centre Mirdif, City Centre Deira, City Centre Al Shindagha and City Centre Me’aisem, Majid Al Futtaim is running its SHARE Millionaire campaign.

Members of the SHARE programme who spend at least AED300 are eligible to win one million points, equivalent to AED100,000.

Each week, one winner is selected.

Shoppers can enter the campaign by scanning and uploading receipts on the SHARE mobile application.
