Carrefour UAE offers shoppers chance to attend World Cup   

Until August 11, Majid Al Futtaim, in partnership with VISA, is offering shoppers at Carrefour UAE the chance to attend the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 this November.

Customers who spend more than AED500 using VISA cards at Carrefour’s physical stores or on its online platform are eligible to attend the World Cup and are automatically entered into the running.

“We are excited to be partnering with Visa to offer our customers a trip of a lifetime to the FIFA World Cup,” said Christophe Orcet, head of commercial and operations of carrefour at Majid Al Futtaim Retail.

“Carrefour always seeks to provide its customers with unique experiences, so we are delighted to join in with the celebrations and unite to be part of the world’s most prestigious event.”

Available to win are four group stage match packages and one opening match package.

Winners will be able to attend two matches of the World Cup with a companion.

The cost of winners’ flights and stays of up to four nights at a five-star hotel will be covered.

“This promotion is a great way to reward Carrefour customers every time they pay with Visa cards and to extend the benefits of the digital economy to more consumers in the UAE.

“We believe this will help further increase preference for convenient, secure and rewarding payment experiences ahead of the tournament.”

Shoppers also have the chance to win shopping vouchers worth a total of AED20,000 and 10 televisions by Chinese electronics manufacturer Hisense.

Carrefour’s World Cup campaign runs alongside Majid Al Futtaim’s participation in Dubai Summer Surprises.

Across Mall of the Emirates, City Centre Mirdif, City Centre Deira, City Centre Al Shindagha and City Centre Me’aisem, Majid Al Futtaim is running its SHARE Millionaire campaign for nine weeks.

Customers enrolled in the retail operator’s loyalty programme, SHARE, who spend at least AED300 are eligible to win one million points, equivalent to AED100,000.

Each week, one winner will be selected.

Shoppers can enter the campaign by scanning and uploading receipts on the SHARE mobile application.

On all weekends between July 16 and August 7, customers at participating shopping centres will receive 25 times the number of SHARE points on purchases.

Points are redeemable at any Majid Al Futtaim-operated retail outlets across the city.
