Springfield, operated by Al Ghurair in the UAE, has opened a flagship concept store in City Centre Mirdif.

The store, which spans over 200 square metres, was designed using the brand’s tree logo as inspiration and aims to emulate an outdoor environment with sustainability kept top of mind.

Décor around the store is made from sustainable materials sourced from suppliers certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, global authority of forest management, conservation and preservation.

Springfield’s apparel, created with durability in mind, is made with organic and recycled raw materials using technology that conserves water and energy with minimal chemical usage.

“The launch of this flagship store is an exciting moment for the UAE’s fashion scene, as we start to see a noticeable shift in consumer trends towards sustainable choices,” said Anuradha Dhawan, general manager of Al Ghurair Retail.

“We are proud to be at the forefront of responding to this change, providing increasingly eco-conscious shoppers with a wider choice of responsible options.

“We take our commitment to the environment seriously and we want a make a positive impact for generations to come.

In 2020, Springfield launched its initiative to improve the air quality of its native country, Spain, through reforestation and creating new ecosystems.

To date, 90,000 trees have been planted.

With its increasing footprint in the Middle East’s market, Springfield hopes to continue its support of the environment within the region.

“With the launch of this concept store, we are building deeper roots in the region and have many exciting environmental initiatives in the pipeline,” Ms Dhawan added.

“We hope that our customers and brand enthusiasts will take part in these projects as we become advocates for regional sustainability.

“Our approach is simple: whenever you can, use what you already have, but when you need to buy, but better. Better for the planet, better for you.”

Springfield’s spring/summer collection for men and women for this year includes items across several of its categories, such as denims, linens and ICONS.

The store adds to Springfield’s existing portfolio of stores across Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah.

In coming years, the retailer hopes to expand to Jordan, Iraq and the West Bank.

Springfield, whose target consumers are those aged between 25 and 35, operates in over 70 countries and via its e-commerce site.
