American clothing brand True Religion has announced plans to step into the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

Specifically in the Middle East, the denim apparel and accessories company will foray into Qatar and Lebanon.

With this move, True Religion will increase its total number of international markets to 26.

The company also said that some partners will offer select wholesale opportunities to other multi-brand retailers in their regions.

CEO of True Religion, Michael Buckley, said: “Global expansion into high-growth markets, anchored by our expansion into China, remains a key strategy for us for the near future.

““We are excited to work with our partners in these dynamic regions and are committed to delivering a premium brand experience to True Religion shoppers across the globe.”

In March, True Religion announced aspirations to grow in China through a collaboration with Aurorae Group.

True Religion has agreed to open 65 freestanding stores and shop-in-shops by 2026 as part of the collaboration, and a total of 108 by 2028.

The California-based brand True Religion was created in 2002 by Jeff Lubell and Kym Gold.

According to a report by Euromonitor International, the region’s fashion market is projected to record a compound annual growth rate of approximately 7 per cent between this year and 2027.

While the UAE and Saudi Arabia account for nearly half of the fashion industry’s revenues in the Middle East, local consumers in Qatar proved to be the most dynamic in the region.
