Dubai’s lifestyle destination City Walk has embarked on a bold expansion, planning to open 65 stores by the end of 2023.

This move will bring City Walk’s occupancy rate to 98 per cent.

Merex Investment has undertaken a strategic leasing operation over the past two years to adapt City Walk to the evolving tastes of its audience.

CEO of Merex Investment, Shahram Shamsaee, said: “Our customer has changed over the past few years. In the past year alone, we have welcomed new residents to the neighbourhood and the existing residential inventory is set to grow.

“We also have offices in the destination, and there has been an uptick in foot traffic and dwell time. For this changing audience, we have made changes to our tenant mix.”

Seventy per cent of stores will be situated along City Walk Boulevard.

The new stage of expansion will witness the debut of athleisure brands including Lululemon, Adidas and Puma.

It will also see the opening of stores such as Sophie Couture, The Giving Movement, Les Benjamins, Madly, Albeer Couture, Kataleya and Ludivine.

In the lifestyle category, the destination will see the addition of brands including Studio 971, Arclinea & Lema, NOK Home and Forma Italy.

City Walk Dubai is a strategically developed urban project by MERAASCity Walk, which opened to the public in February 2016.
