USA-based technology company Snap Inc. will begin offering AR solutions for GCC retailers, the company announced on Monday.

This will be done through AR Enterprise Services, which will enable businesses to integrate Snap’s augmented reality into their owned and operated channels.

Consumers will enjoy immersive and personalised experiences with their favourite brands, Snap said.

In markets like Saudi Arabia and UAE, interacting with products that have AR experiences leads to a 94 per cent higher conversion rate, according to a study conducted my Snap.

“While an average of 80 per cent of consumers expect and desire to use AR as a practical “tool” in their everyday lives and 85 per cent of our Mena daily users interact with lenses every day,” said Snap.

Retailers such as Goodr, Princess Polly and Gobi Cashmere, who used ARES’ business tools, witnessed a four-fold increase in conversion rates and reduced return rates. They also saw an 81 per cent uplift in add-to-cart and a 67 per cent uplift in conversion for mobile device users, leading to a 59 per cent increase in revenue per visitor.

ARES provides technology like 3D Viewer, AR Try-On, and Fit Finder, which can be embedded directly inside retailers’ own apps and websites.

These technologies will be available to customers in Q2 this year, and will include AR shopping services for apparel, footwear, and accessories.

Jill Popelka, head of AR Enterprise Services at Snap Inc., said: “Over the last decade, we’ve been hard at work bringing fun and personal AR experiences to Snapchatters. In the next decade, we’re excited to take our world-class AR technology to businesses’ websites, apps, and even into their physical locations.”

“We look forward to making the shopping experience more delightful for consumers and transforming businesses around the world with AR Enterprise Services.”
