As Hamad International Airport is gearing up for the final countdown to the Fifa World Cup 2022, Qatar Duty Free has become the ‘World’s Leading Airport Duty Free Operator 2022’ in the World Travel Awards.
Qatar The winner has been selected out of 10 eligible nominees recruited from more than one hundred competitors for the accolade.

The award ceremony took place at the World Travel Awards Grand Final Ceremony and Gala Dinner on November 11.
The Duty Free’s accolade is due in no small part to the roaring success of the recent expansion of the retail area at Hamad International Airport which offers more than 65 retail and dining outlets across its three levels.
Last month, Qatar Duty Free was recognised as the Middle East’s ‘Leading Airport Duty Free Operator 2022’ by the World Travel Awards at the Ritz-Carlton in Amman, Jordan.
The recently unveiled location boasts a lush orchard and 10,000 square metres indoor tropical garden called The Orchard alongside various luxury boutiques.
Qatar Airways Group CEO, Mr Akbar Al Baker, said: “We are very pleased to be launching the Expansion of Hamad International Airport, an airport that has truly grown to become the ultimate example of a successful, sustainable global facility.
Two months ago, Qatar Duty Free, a fully owned subsidiary of Fifa Partner Qatar Airways, has been named the official retail store for the Fifa World Cup Qatar 2022.
