Prestigious Italian manufacturer of road-racing bicycles Colnago has launched its flagship store on Al Hudayriyat Island, Abu Dhabi, to solidify its presence in the UAE.
The two-storey 10,000-square feet store aims to be a “reference point for all cycling fans” in the city. It “will allow the brand to grow and increase its presence in all markets, while maintaining and improving the quality of Colnago products,” the company said.
Colnago’s CEO, Nicola Rosin, said: “As an organisation that prides itself in creating superior experiences through expertly crafted bicycles, the launch of our new store in Abu Dhabi represents another significant milestone in our journey at Colnago as we continue to build the brand worldwide.”
This move also benefits the government’s aspiration of promoting health and fitness as part of its Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030.
The store features a bespoke fitting centre and displays the seven decades-long history of the Colnago brand.
The venue opening comes two years after Dubai-based private equity company Chimera Investments acquired Colnago.
Since its inception in 1954, Colnago has evolved into one of the world-renowned bike manufacturers, providing frames for the UAE Team Emirates and the first UAE women’s World Tour.
“Colnago is more than a bicycle brand and this store has been carefully planned and designed to showcase the best of Colnago’s products and our rich heritage that we are proud of while offering distinctive hospitality experiences. We hope having this physical space in a city that is growing rapidly will help meet the needs of cycling enthusiasts in Abu Dhabi, enabling them to experience first-hand the products that have made us the ace of cycling,” said Mr Rosin.
