Chinese electronics manufacturer Hisense has launched its first branded store in Qatar at Lagoona Mall.

It opened the shop in conjunction with Qatar’s Fifty One East department store.

“We are honoured to host the first and exclusive Hisense store in Qatar at Lagoona Mall, the home of some of the world’s most desired brands,” said chairman and managing director of Fifty One East, Bader Al-Darwish.

“This reflects our strong relationship and shared values and is in line with our expansion strategy to bring the latest international labels to Qatar. We stay committed to offering the best tech brands and high-end services that exceed our customers’ expectations and fulfil their lifestyle aspirations.”

President of Hisense in the Middle East and Africa, Jason Ou, said: “We are elated to announce the launch of our first brand store in Qatar, in the same year as the FIFA World Cup 2022™, making it even more special.

“Hisense is one of the fastest growing brands globally as it focuses on delivering best-in-class technology and products that resonate with local demands. Through our brand stores, we want to showcase the innovation and exceptional experience of our technology, the moment shoppers step inside.”

A sponsor of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, Hisense hopes to heighten its brand awareness across the GCC region during the tournament, which kicks off in November.

Qatar is the ‘most attractive’ consumer electronics market in the Middle East and Africa, according to a report by Fitch Solutions, financial services company.

The market surge is fuelled by consumers’ appetites for advanced technologies.

According to a Statista report, revenues for the consumer electronics segment in Qatar were set to reach $614.4 million this year. The segment is expected to increase at a compound annual growth rate of 6.87 per cent from 2022-2025.
