Mall of Qatar has joined forces with Qatar Airways Privilege Club to launch a special rewards programme.
The first-of-its-kind scheme allows club members to earn Avios air miles when shopping at the mall. Members will receive 1 Avios for every QR4 they spend, which can then be redeemed for fights.
To collect Avios miles, members need to present their Privilege Club number when buying a gift card to Mall of Qatar’s stores. Cards can be used at more than 500 stores and may be shared with friends and family members.
“The new feature of earning Qatar Airways Avios when purchasing the Mall of Qatar Gift Card will allow our guests to enjoy the benefits of redeeming their Avios with flights to their favourite destinations while at the same time availing the special discounts and offers that the Gift Card provides,” said Emile Sarkis, general manager of the Mall of Qatar.

“Our newest partnership with Mall of Qatar emphasises our commitment to rewarding our loyalty members in Qatar by providing them with new ways of earning Avios. Privilege Club members can seamlessly redeem their Avios whilst enjoying their everyday shopping to collect points towards their travels.”
Qatar is set to host the FIFA World Cup 2022 in November and expects an increase in retail footfall amid the projected 1.5 million fan turnout for the sporting event.
The country’s market is expected to recover by 2.4 per cent from 2020 and record a 3.6 per cent growth by the end of the year, according to reports by the International Monetary Fund.
