Waitrose opens in Yas Mall, Abu Dhabi

UK-based grocery retailer Waitrose & Partners has opened a store on the ground level of Abu Dhabi’s Yas Mall.

The 16,000-square-foot store is the first Waitrose & Partners outlet on Yas Island.

The store also brings the emirate its first Waite and Rose Café, complete with an outdoor seating area.

Shoppers can enjoy dishes such as a full English breakfast, pan-fried salmon with roasted cauliflower, and asparagus and penne arrabbiata.

In keeping with Waitrose & Partners’ eco-friendly objectives, ingredients are sustainably sourced with traceability kept top of mind.

The branch’s grab-and-go food station offers shoppers hot and chilled dishes from international cuisines, such as Indian butter chicken, Lebanese tabouleh and Greek salads.

Shoppers can find ready-to-use and frozen products and meals at the store, with plant-based options available Plantlife and GoVeggie ranges.

No. 1 Premium Range products, made with sustainably sourced ingredients, are also available.

The retailer’s Organic Duchy range, sourced with cruelty-free and sustainable methods, is also stocked.

The line’s peanut butter is free of palm oil and made only with organic peanuts and sea salt.

Duchy Organic’s shaved parmigiano is made from Italian cow’s milk sourced from Lombardy and Emilia-Romagna.

The ranges mark Waitrose & Partners’ efforts to give customers dishes that are easy to cook while preserving quality and sustainability.

“We are thrilled to be serving the community in such a coveted destination in the UAE’s capital,” said Sunil Kumar, CEO of Fine Fare Food UAE, operator of Waitrose & Partners in the Middle East.

“At Waitrose & Partners, we are all about sharing our love for food, as trusted purveyors of responsibly sourced products with exceptional customer service.

“We very much look forward to welcoming shoppers to our new Yas Mall branch.”

The store also features three self-check-out tills to give shoppers a quick and convenient shopping experience.
