E-commerce app Botit launches instant delivery in Egypt’s North Coast

Cairo-based e-commerce platform Botit is bringing next-day delivery to the North East on orders before 2 PM.

The company is pioneering instant delivery in the area to fill a gap in the market as most e-commerce platforms at Egypt’s premiere summer destinations take days to deliver items.

“Our expansion onto the North Coast represents an industry-first that we are really excited about,” Botit’s CEO and co-founder, Adam Mowafi, told StartupScene.

“Any of our 400 brands that are available for same-day delivery in Cairo will now also be deliverable on next-day delivery to North Coast compounds.”

Developed by MO4 Innovations, Botit app was launched earlier this year, rapidly establishing itself in the e-commerce sector with thousands of app downloads on iOS devices in its first few months.

Botit’s selection represents various local and international brands and spans 14 categories, such as sports, homeware, kitchenware, electronics and fashion and beauty.

“We are also offering an instant and same-day service on some of the North Coast’s most well-loved restaurants and fashion vendors,” added Mr Mowafi.

“Alongside our vast array of international brands, we’re leading the way in facilitating the delivery of local brands.

“Botit is the first of its kind to provide consistent and reliable access to local retail talent, where previously local brands could only mainly interact with customers at sporadic pop-ups and bazaars.

“Combined with our fast-growing virtual delivery fleet, we’re able to offer a rapid delivery to our customers without incurring the high costs that delivery apps often do.”

Food delivery on the North Coast is currently limited to supermarket items and holiday basics.

According to Statista, revenue in the Egyptian e-commerce market is projected to reach $6.67 billion in 2023, growing at a compound annual growth rate of 14.43 per cent till 2027, resulting in a projected market volume of $11.43 billion.
