14 retailers in the UAE won recognition on Wednesday at the Business Excellence Awards held in Dubai.
The event was organised via a virtual ceremony by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism.
The DET awarded ‘Best Service Performance Brand 2023’ to 14 retailers which included the Dubai Mall in the shopping centres category, Carters by Lals Group in the fashion retail category and Aswaaq and Grand Stores in the hypermarkets and general retail category.
E-commerce company 6th Street was given the award in the e-services category, while furniture brand Interiors won the award in the specialised retail category.
Jeweller Joyalukkas and British clothing company Matalan won the ‘Best Service Performance Brand’ overall in the GCC.
Global Village also won the same award in the hospitality and entertainment category.
The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism noted some branches of brands as standing out in customer service.
These included The Face Shop at Al Wahda Mall in Abu Dhabi, The Watch House in Bawadi Mall in Al Ain, LuLu Hypermarket in Al Barsha, Lakeland at the Mall Of The Emirates, and the Geekay store in Al Khawaneej in Dubai.
Helal Saeed Almarri, director general of DET, said: “The annual hosting of the Business Excellence Awards serves as a testament to the resilience of Dubai and its pioneering approach to promoting public-private partnerships, which have played a pivotal role in enhancing the competitiveness of business establishments.”

Overall, 46 businesses across various industries won several awards, which included The Dubai Quality Gold Award, Dubai Quality Appreciation Award, Dubai Smart Industry Award, and the Best Service Performance Brand.
