LuLu opens hypermarket in Saudi Arabia

LuLu has launched a hypermarket in Saudi Arabia’s Al-Khobar city.

It was inaugurated by Hamad Bin Mohammed AlbuAli, Vice President of the Chamber of commerce Eastern Province in the presence of Yusuffali MA, Chairman of Lulu Group International.

The hypermarket marks LuLu’s 30th store in the country.

The 100,000 square feet single-level hypermarket is located in the Al Rakkah district and will feature food products grown and produced in Saudi Arabia – farmed fish, locally slaughtered lamb and beef in the meat section, Saudi coffee, Saudi-grown fruits and vegetables and also foods made in Saudi Arabia.

To highlight its sustainability goals, the store will also offer e-receipts for every purchase which will go as an SMS message to customers’ phones upon payment at the checkout counter.

It will also feature a ‘Refills’ section where customers can refill their packs with coffee, millets, spices and pulses in-store while they shop.

Other LuLu officials who were present at the inauguration include Saifee Rupawala, CEO of Lulu Group, Shehim Mohammed, Director LuLu Hypermarket Saudi Arabia, Moiz Nuruddin, Regional Director for LuLu Eastern Province and Eng. Muhammad Ahmad Bubushait Executive Manager for LuLu Eastern Province.
