The new series will be available in leading retail stores and hypermarkets in the UAE. The line-up aims to target fitness enthusiasts who are now taking part in the month-long Dubai Fitness Challenge.

The new model also features enhanced health tracking and management that promises to monitor heart rate with precision and check blood-oxygen saturation as well as stress levels around the clock.

The watches include ultra-long battery life for an uninterrupted fitness experience for up to 15 days without charging.

The Amazfit model has built-in Alexa voice assistant for online voice commands, music storage and stand-alone music playback and hands-free workouts.

The fourth generation of the Amazfit GTR and GTS series comes in various colour palettes. Prices are Dh369 for GTS 4 MINI and Dh739 for GTR 4 and GTS 4.

Amazfit is a smart wearable brand, established in September 2015. Its products are owned and manufactured by Zepp Health.

With the number of connected wearable devices in the Mena region expected to reach 46 million by the end of this year, according to technology company Cisco, the region’s wearables market seems to be in the midst of a significant transformation.

According to Arab Health, one of the largest gatherings of healthcare and trade professionals, 45 per cent of GCC residents consider wearable tech, such as smartwatches or fitness trackers, an effective way to monitor their health. Increasing consumer spending in countries like the UAE is expected to augment the market’s growth.
