Union Coop partners with Smile Train Dubai

Union Coop has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Smile Train Dubai, a children’s cleft care charity.

Smile Train is the largest international organisation that targets cleft lip and cleft palate medical conditions and provides free surgery and comprehensive care for children.

The partnership promotes a common line of action, as the organisations aim to mutually promote projects and initiatives alongside working towards providing their services with high quality and efficacy.

The organisations intend to strengthen their relationship by exchanging experiences and utilising each other’s corporate capabilities.

This agreement is also intended to fortify the bonds of co-operation and co-ordination between Union Coop and the Smile Train International Corporation.

Consolidating the partnership allows both parties to mutually benefit from experiences in all fields, which will ultimately achieve shared strategic goals with added value.

The MoU was signed by both Dr Suhail Al Bastaki, director of the happiness and marketing department at Union Coop, and Ms Afaf Meky, executive manager of Smile Train Dubai at the headquarters of the Union Coop in Al Warqa City Mall, Dubai.

Speaking to the Khaleej Times last year, Dr Bastaki said “Union Coop always seeks to build strong joint relations with all community and service institutions in the country, as one of its priorities to effectively enhance the concepts of cooperation and community partnership that exist between different sectors.”

Mohammad Amin Al Emadi, board member and director general of Dubai Autism Centre, an organisation Union Coop signed an MoU with in October 2021, said: “We also commend their efforts in the field of corporate social responsibility and their permanent and acclaimed commitment to humanitarian and societal issues in the country.”

Dr Bastaki confirmed that the co-operative is eager to sign MoUs in cooperation with all societal institutions.
