The Giving Movement to open first physical store in Dubai’s Mall of the Emirates

The Giving Movement, UAE-based activewear, loungewear and athleisurewear e-commerce brand, will open its first brick-and-mortar store in Mall of the Emirates this year.

“We are excited to announce that we will be opening our first flagship store in Mall of the Emirates later this year,” said Dominic Nowell-Barnes, founder and chairman of The Giving Movement.

“We recognised that shopping in retail stores is still a big part of the culture in the UAE, so we are excited to create a truly unique experience in our flagship store.”

The store will stock The Giving Movement’s first footwear line, which was released online this week.

In keeping with the brand’s prioritisation of sustainability, products from the line, such as slides, are bio-based and manufactured using sugar.

In October, The Giving Movement will showcase its first ready-to-wear collection, Fifty Made, at Dubai Fashion Week.

Fifty pieces of each style will be made.

Founded in early 2020 with the mission ‘to give back’, The Giving Movement donates AED15 to local charities for each item sold.

To date, the brand has donated $2.4 million to Dubai Cares and Harmony House to provide food, shelter and education to those in need around the world.

By the end of the next year, the brand hopes to donate $10 million.

“Our philosophy is a simple one: small acts multiplied by many can transform the world,” said Mr Nowell-Barnes.

The Giving Movement maintains a sustainable supply chain with the manufacturing process running solely in Dubai and using only recyclable and biodegradable materials.

“By producing the clothes locally in the UAE, we could not only support the local economy but we could ensure the clothes were made ethically under our watch,” Mr Nowell-Barnes told Emirates Woman.

In March, The Giving Movement announced the closing of its $15 million Series A funding round from venture capitalist firm Knuru Capital alongside other investors, ahead of its plans to extend its product range and expand internationally.
