LuLu Bahrain partners with Talabat

LuLu hypermarket outlets in Bahrain have partnered with online grocery and food delivery company Talabat to provide its customers with a trusted delivery service.

The partnership comes as part of LuLu Group International’s efforts to expand its online retail presence and explore its omnichannel avenues.

“The LuLu Group is always at the forefront of making the retail experience enjoyable, affordable and valuable in terms of quality to our shoppers,” said Juzer Rupawala, director of LuLu Group International’s Bahraini and Egyptian operations.

“This partnership with Talabat opens yet another access to our retail presence in Bahrain, while also strengthening our omnichannel approach for e-commerce, that currently includes online delivery, express delivery and WhatsApp delivery.

“With online shopping being the future of the retail business, we are keen to build on Talabat’s reputation for a strong last-mile delivery network and take LuLu to customers’ homes effectively,” Mr Rupawala said.

Customers can purchase LuLu Hypermarket’s extensive range of products on the Talabat app, available on the AppStore, PlayStore and Huawei Store.

“We always strive to provide all the convenient options for our customers and the presence of LuLu on Talabat will provide an outstanding experience for them,” said Hisham Al Saati, executive director of Talabat’s Bahrain operations.

In further support of its customer base and the Bahraini community, LuLu Group International has launched its ‘LuLu Cares’ campaign.

The campaign encourages shoppers to support orphans under the care of charity Royal Humanitarian Foundation with financial donations.

Customers can donate money at LuLu’s checkout counters, with as little as BHD0.1 contributing to the campaign.

In addition, the grocery retailer is participating in the Make a Child Happy campaign, organised by Bahraini publication Gulf Daily News

Make a Child Happy collects donations of toys, gaming consoles and video games to distribute to more than 20,000 underprivileged, orphaned and ill children for Eid Al Fitr.

At present, LuLu Group International operates 10 hypermarket and supermarket outlets in the kingdom, employing more than 3,000 people, 40 per cent of whom are Bahraini.

The group aims to open four more branches in Bahrain this year as a continuation of expansion plans made prior to the Covid-19 pandemic.
