{"id":24243,"date":"2023-09-27T13:10:28","date_gmt":"2023-09-27T13:10:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/?p=24243"},"modified":"2023-09-27T13:11:09","modified_gmt":"2023-09-27T13:11:09","slug":"amazon-uae-initiative","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/2023\/09\/27\/amazon-uae-initiative\/","title":{"rendered":"Amazon UAE launches initiative for students"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!-- VideographyWP Plugin Message: Automatic video embedding prevented by plugin options. --><br \/>\n<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Amazon UAE has launched the\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">student competition \u2018<a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.jobs\/en\/landing_pages\/mena-innovation-challenge\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Transcend Campus Innovation Challenge\u2019<\/a>, aimed at fostering innovation and strategic thinking.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The event invites third and fourth-year students from the UAE\u2019s top universities to develop solutions to real-life business cases, which impact the customer and seller experiences.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Director of human resources at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/2023\/08\/28\/amazon-uae-programme\/\">Amazon<\/a> operations in Mena, Melina Alvarado,<\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">said: \u201cTranscend Campus Innovation Challenge reflects our dedication to empowering the UAE&#8217;s talent pool, especially the youth, by fostering a mindset of innovation among the business leaders of tomorrow.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">&#8220;Through partnerships with the UAE\u2019s leading universities, we aim to discover promising talent, and introduce them to the world of Amazon. The immersive experience of the competition will bring them up close with our passion for innovation for our customers.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Amazon\u2019s Transcend Campus Innovation Challenge will tackle industry topics such as enhancing productivity, environmental sustainability and ensuring delivery excellence.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The programme will roll out in two stages, commencing with time-crunched business problem-solving in the first phase, followed by an exciting face-off between the top three teams from each campus in the grand finale.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Assistant dean of student affairs and director of career development centre at NYU Abu Dhabi, Dana Downey, said: \u201cAmazon\u2019s Innovation Challenge invites students into the type of experiential, engaged, and audacious learning that we have at NYUAD, and aspire to build on further.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>This programme is part of the company&#8217;s wider efforts to equip candidates for the e-commerce industry.
