{"id":23670,"date":"2023-07-24T14:08:57","date_gmt":"2023-07-24T14:08:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/?p=23670"},"modified":"2023-07-24T14:11:10","modified_gmt":"2023-07-24T14:11:10","slug":"saudi-e-commerce-growth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/2023\/07\/24\/saudi-e-commerce-growth\/","title":{"rendered":"Saudi e-commerce registrations surge by 21 per cent in Q2"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!-- VideographyWP Plugin Message: Automatic video embedding prevented by plugin options. --><br \/>\n<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The issuance of Saudi e-commerce records has shot up by 21 per cent touching 35,314 in the second quarter of 2023, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/mc.gov.sa\/en\/Pages\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Commerce Ministry&#8217;s<\/a> business sector bulletin.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Riyadh region has come to the forefront, issuing most e-commerce records, followed by Makkah, Al-Sharqiyah, Al-Qassim and Asir.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">These results follow the Ministry&#8217;s efforts to enhance the electronic commerce business system, being one of the Kingdom&#8217;s Vision 2030 goals.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The Ministry of Commerce is seeking to stimulate the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/2023\/03\/20\/saudi-arabias-e-commerce-market-to-hit-20-billion-in-2027\/\">e-commerce market<\/a> and increase reliability and confidence in its dealings, as well as protect dealer rights in a way that enhances growth.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Currently, the Ministry is working on 10 high-priority projects, divided into six laws and four regulations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The laws cover the Consumer Protection Law, the Commercial Register Law, the Trademark Law, the Commercial Transactions Law, the Franchise Brokerage Law and the regulations for establishing government companies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The four regulations are the Family Companies Charter, the Corporate Governance Regulation, the Implementing Regulation for the Commercial Register Law and the Implementing Regulation for the Trade Name Law.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The Ministry aims to support entrepreneurs who want to switch from regular trade to e-commerce through the agencies that offer their services in terms of empowerment, e-payment, digital marketing, technical solutions, e-markets, logistical solutions and platforms for developing e-stores.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The most prominent of these agencies is the E-Commerce Council of the ministry, which aims to enhance the reliability of e-commerce and increase its contribution to the national economy and stimulate commercial activities in Saudi Arabia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">E-commerce is deemed vital for strengthening the national economy, especially since Saudi Arabia is one of the top 10 growing countries in the field of e-commerce with a percentage exceeding 32 per cent.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The issuance of electronic commerce records has grown by 21%  hitting 35,314 Q2, Saudi Commerce Ministry reports<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":40,"featured_media":20822,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[154,1],"tags":[2683],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/23670"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/40"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=23670"}],"version-history":[{"count":4,"href":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/23670\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":23674,"href":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/23670\/revisions\/23674"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/20822"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=23670"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=23670"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=23670"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
