{"id":22329,"date":"2023-03-22T05:00:56","date_gmt":"2023-03-22T05:00:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/?p=22329"},"modified":"2023-03-21T20:21:23","modified_gmt":"2023-03-21T20:21:23","slug":"metaverse-clinique-virtual-lab","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/2023\/03\/22\/metaverse-clinique-virtual-lab\/","title":{"rendered":"Clinique launches virtual lab in Middle East"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!-- VideographyWP Plugin Message: Automatic video embedding prevented by plugin options. --><br \/>\n<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">American skincare and cosmetics brand Clinique has launched a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.clinique.com\/metaverse-experience\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">virtual lab<\/a> in the Middle East, augmenting its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/2023\/02\/24\/mall-of-the-metaverse-step-inside-a-virtual-retail-world\/\">metaverse<\/a> strategy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The opening of a digital environment where customers can create custom avatars and browse its products aligns with Cilinique&#8217;s aspiration to build upon its in-store lab concept.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Clinique VP of e-commerce, Emmanuel Rousson, said:<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">&#8220;It\u2019s a new way to present our brand \u2014 an adventure that\u2019s deeply experiential and aspirational, with an element of personalisation both in the avatar and the way you decide to engage with it.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Through The Clinique Lab experience, customers can explore six different environments where they can purchase products, chat with a Clinique consultant and learn about product formulas and the company\u2019s origins, said the company in a statement.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The company first established a presence in the metaverse through the launch of its first digital collectable through a limited-edition non-fungible token in October 2021.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Prior to opening a virtual lab to showcase its products, Clinique debuted its Clinique Lab in New York City last July. At that time, the brand planned to launch more branches within Macy\u2019s stores and other retail partners.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The skincare brand offered the NFT and an annual assortment of products over the next decade to its Smart Rewards members.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Last June, Clinique unveiled its first NFT campaign called &#8216;Metaverse More Like Us&#8217;.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Metaverse and web3 are ushering in a new wave of brands eager to create virtual environments to lure consumers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Such rapid growth is not without challenges.
