{"id":22301,"date":"2023-03-21T07:14:08","date_gmt":"2023-03-21T07:14:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/?p=22301"},"modified":"2023-03-21T07:14:08","modified_gmt":"2023-03-21T07:14:08","slug":"emaar-to-build-60-million-mall-in-india","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/2023\/03\/21\/emaar-to-build-60-million-mall-in-india\/","title":{"rendered":"Emaar to build $60 million mall in India"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!-- VideographyWP Plugin Message: Automatic video embedding prevented by plugin options. --><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/2022\/08\/22\/emaar-to-sell-namshi-to-noon-for-335-2-million\/\">Emaar Properties<\/a> will build a shopping mall and office towers in India\u2019s Jammu and Kashmir.<\/p>\n<p>The announcement came on Monday after the Indian city of Srinagar hosted an India-UAE investors\u2019 meet.<\/p>\n<p>The project will cost Emaar $60 million.<\/p>\n<p>The mall will be located in Srinagar and this will be the first time a foreign company will invest in Jammu and Kashmir.<\/p>\n<p>Amit Jain, CEO of Emaar Properties India, said at the ground-breaking ceremony: \u201cThis is the start, we should inspire people, people should aspire to follow us. This is a one million square feet mall with 500 shops and will generate around 7,000 to 8,000 jobs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mr Jain added that there will be 500 shops at the mall, which are expected to be run by UAE-based companies.<\/p>\n<p>There will also be a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/2023\/03\/17\/lulu-hypermarket-launches-traditional-ramadan-souqs\/\">LuLu hypermarket<\/a>, which will be the anchor store at the property with nearly 100,000 square feet of retail space.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/2023\/03\/21\/loewe-dubai-mall\/\">mall<\/a> will employ about 1,500 youth from the region, Mr Jain said.<\/p>\n<p>The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha said: \u201cToday is a historic day.
