{"id":22169,"date":"2023-03-15T17:18:12","date_gmt":"2023-03-15T17:18:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/?p=22169"},"modified":"2023-03-17T07:14:46","modified_gmt":"2023-03-17T07:14:46","slug":"amazon-uae","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/2023\/03\/15\/amazon-uae\/","title":{"rendered":"Amazon to sell more regional products in UAE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!-- VideographyWP Plugin Message: Automatic video embedding prevented by plugin options. --><br \/>\n<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.ae\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Amazon UAE<\/a> plans to showcase 100,000 SMEs on its website by 2026, according to Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The initiative will grant UAE retailers a global platform in line with Dubai Economic Agenda (D33).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201cDubai has positioned itself as a thriving centre for the digital economy,\u201d said Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed\u00a0on Twitter on Tuesday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201cI welcome <a href=\"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/2023\/01\/19\/amazon-replaces-apple-as-most-valuable-brand\/\">Amazon\u2019s<\/a> plans to showcase 100,000 businesses, including local SMEs, on Amazon.ae by 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201cThis initiative will grant Emirati companies a global platform, aligning with D33&#8217;s aspirations, and enabling further progress towards our shared goals.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">D33 was launched in January to double the size of Dubai\u2019s economy, with a target of reaching Dh32 trillion ($8.7 trillion) by 2033 and positioning the country among the top three global cities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Its goal is to transform Dubai into a global digital economy hub, attractive to international retailers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Vice president at Amazon Mena, Ronaldo Mouchawar, told\u00a0<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The National:\u00a0<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">&#8220;We are constantly making investments to support the UAE\u2019s digital economy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">&#8220;As part of this initiative, we will continue to support local businesses and SMEs to help them thrive and successfully grow their business by providing them access to customers on\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"http:\/\/amazon.ae\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Amazon.ae<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, as well as our technology and logistics solutions with Fulfillment by Amazon.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">&#8220;Our global registration program on Amazon.ae also makes it easier and more seamless for local sellers to sell on Amazon stores globally, reaching hundreds of millions of worldwide active customer accounts.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Recently Amazon has been actively investing in the UAE in recent years.
