Currently, Dubai is home to more than 11 G\u00e9ant Express convenience stores and two G\u00e9ant Hypermarkets.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/2023\/02\/10\/geant-opens-two-stores-in-uae\/\">Two new G\u00e9ant Express stores<\/a> opened in Marina Quays and Nshama Town Square this week. It has also launched its first supermarket in the UAE at Citylife Al Jurf in Ajman. In addition to expanding its brick-and-mortar presence, G\u00e9ant offers home delivery via local delivery platforms.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Sustainability goals<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Going beyond expansion, G\u00e9ant has participated in several sustainability-centric initiatives.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">In July, G\u00e9ant, in keeping with the UAE\u2019s single-use plastic-free agenda, launched packaging alternatives including jute and woven bags across all its branches.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The brand also has also partnered with key vendors in waste management, water consumption packaging and recycling spaces to promote its sustainable offerings in-store.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Eco collaborations<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">In October, G\u00e9ant partnered with Dubai-based vertical farm\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.imagesretailme.com\/food-grocery\/geant-partners-with-worlds-largest-dubai-based-vertical-farm-bustanica\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Bustanica<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">&#8211; the Emirates Crop One\u2019s first vertical farm to supply locally grown leafy greens to all G\u00e9ant outlets across the UAE to broaden its sustainability impact.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">In a similar vein,\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.imagesretailme.com\/food-grocery\/gmg-and-silal-partner-to-support-1100-uae-farms-access-local-retail-market\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">GMG<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0and Silal, part of ADQ, signed a memorandum of understanding to foster collaboration in the food sector by linking consumers directly with farmers. Via this agreement, GMG Consumer Goods division\u2019s food retail portfolio (which features G\u00e9ant, Franprix, Monoprix and Monop) will bolster up to 1,100 farms contracted with Silal to bring fresh produce sourced from local farms.
