{"id":21217,"date":"2023-02-09T06:09:44","date_gmt":"2023-02-09T06:09:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/?p=21217"},"modified":"2023-02-09T08:06:07","modified_gmt":"2023-02-09T08:06:07","slug":"saudi-company-partners-with-port-authority-to-boost-retail-logistics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/2023\/02\/09\/saudi-company-partners-with-port-authority-to-boost-retail-logistics\/","title":{"rendered":"Trade agreement set to boost retail in Saudi Arabia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!-- VideographyWP Plugin Message: Automatic video embedding prevented by plugin options. --><br \/>\nThe Saudi Ports authority Mawani has signed an investment <a href=\"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/2023\/02\/02\/tech-partnership-to-drive-luxury-retail-growth-in-mena\/\">agreement<\/a> with leading consumer technology retailer United Electronics Company (eXtra) to set up a logistics centre at King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam.<\/p>\n<p>The centre is expected to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/2023\/02\/03\/smart-warehouses-to-boost-jeddahs-retail-investment\/\">boost<\/a> the kingdom&#8217;s retail sector.<\/p>\n<p>The ten-year deal, valued at 35 million riyals, was signed at the Mawani HQ by its president, Mr Omar Hariri, and Mr Abduljabbar Mohamed Abduljabbar, Chairman at United Electronics Company.<\/p>\n<p>The partnership goes hand in hand with the kingdom\u2019s economic outcomes, in line with the vision drawn up by the National Transport and Logistics Strategy.<\/p>\n<p>To be built over 32,000sq m, the logistics and distribution centre will feature port-centric warehouses and storage areas designed to handle a wide range of multi-brand products and appliances.<\/p>\n<p>King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam has emerged in recent times as a hub offering an integrated suite of logistics services and facilities, including 43 berths, multipurpose terminals, and a 100,000sq m logistics park, alongside a fleet of hi-tech cargo handling equipment.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Saudi Ports Authority, Mawani, has signed an investment agreement with leading consumer technology retailer United Electronics Company (eXtra) to set up a logistics center at King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam.
