{"id":20068,"date":"2022-12-20T15:34:20","date_gmt":"2022-12-20T15:34:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/?p=20068"},"modified":"2022-12-20T15:34:20","modified_gmt":"2022-12-20T15:34:20","slug":"shaker-co-and-lg-expand-long-term-partnership-in-saudi-arabia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/2022\/12\/20\/shaker-co-and-lg-expand-long-term-partnership-in-saudi-arabia\/","title":{"rendered":"Shaker Co and LG expand long-term partnership in Saudi Arabia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!-- VideographyWP Plugin Message: Automatic video embedding prevented by plugin options. --><br \/>\n<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Al Hassan Ghazi Ibrahim Shaker Co, a Saudi leading importer, manufacturer and distributor of air conditioners and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/2022\/05\/16\/egypts-select-brings-mobile-devices-and-electronics-to-fresh-electrics-for-home-appliances-co\/\">home appliances<\/a>, and LG Electronics have expanded their long-term strategic partnership through a new supply agreement.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The new agreement will bring home appliance and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/2022\/07\/15\/eros-opens-its-15th-store-in-uae-in-ibn-battuta-mall\/\">home entertainment products<\/a> (namely televisions, refrigerators, washing machines, dryers, dishwashers and microwave ovens) to the Saudi market.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The supply agreement, coming into effect on January 1, will allow Shaker to bring LG\u2019s entire product range to the market as well as advance its comprehensive retail and e-commerce operations across Saudi Arabia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">CEO of Shaker Group, Mohammed Ibrahim Abunayyan, said: \u201cThis is a key milestone in our long-term partnership as we continue to support our shared ambitious growth plans for the kingdom to grow local talent, optimise local technologies and deliver innovative products that meet the needs of consumers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201cThe agreement is also a major step in expanding Shaker\u2019s portfolio mix to ensure that we cater to the growing demand for high-quality home appliances and home entertainment products in Saudi Arabia. Importantly, our shared approach to offer energy-efficient products and maximise local content is also aligned with the kingdom\u2019s vision and journey to net zero.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Shaker has been in collaboration with LG for more than 20 years as the sole distributor of LG air conditioners in Saudi Arabia. So far, the joint venture has culminated in the establishment of an air conditioning factory with a capacity of one million units.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">According to a recent study by Report Ocean, a market research firm, Saudi Arabia&#8217;s air conditioner market is forecast to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 4 per cent till 2030.
