{"id":18791,"date":"2022-10-17T08:00:52","date_gmt":"2022-10-17T08:00:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/?p=18791"},"modified":"2022-10-17T08:14:09","modified_gmt":"2022-10-17T08:14:09","slug":"majid-al-futtaim-opens-second-carrefour-store-in-madinaty-egypt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/2022\/10\/17\/majid-al-futtaim-opens-second-carrefour-store-in-madinaty-egypt\/","title":{"rendered":"Majid Al Futtaim opens second Carrefour store in Madinaty, Egypt"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!-- VideographyWP Plugin Message: Automatic video embedding prevented by plugin options. --><br \/>\nUAE-based Majid Al Futtaim Retail has partnered with Egypt&#8217;s retail estate developer Talaat Moustafa Group to open the second Carrefour store in Madinaty.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s scheduled to open at All Seasons Park Mall.<\/p>\n<p>Carrefour&#8217;s first store opened in Madinaty at the Open Air Mall in 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Majid Al Futtaim operates 59 Carrefour stores in Egypt, including 14 hypermarkets and 45 supermarkets.<\/p>\n<p>Today, Majid Al Futtaim has more than 375 Carrefour stores in total across 17 countries, serving more than 750,000 customers daily and employing approximately 37,000 people.<\/p>\n<p>In March, Philippe P\u00e9guilhan, country manager of Carrefour Egypt, confirmed the retailer&#8217;s objective to boost its online sales through the advanced Carrefour digital platform, as well as focus on the expansion of its dark store warehouses to swiftly cater to Carrefour\u2019s e-commerce customers.<\/p>\n<p>Carrefour Egypt\u00a0also floated its plans to build 10 new stores in\u00a0Egypt\u00a0in the foreseeable future<\/p>\n<p>He said that online sales account for 6.5 per cent of Carrefour\u2019s total revenues.
