cloud-based technology platform operating in Saudi Arabia and the UAE, has acquired Melltoo, a second-hand goods <a href=\"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/2022\/05\/30\/uae-shoppers-search-online-but-buy-in-store-says-report\/\">online<\/a> marketplace, ahead of its plans to expand operations across the region\u2019s markets.<\/p>\n<p>Visitors to Melltoo\u2019s website will now be automatically redirected to Cartlow\u2019s platform.<\/p>\n<p>It houses more than 500,000 products across 30 categories and offers <a href=\"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/2022\/08\/10\/uae-retail-economy-grows-by-16-per-cent-from-last-year-says-report\/\">customers<\/a> various flexible <a href=\"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/2022\/07\/29\/buy-now-pay-later-schemes-increasingly-popular-in-the-uae\/\">payment<\/a> options.<\/p>\n<p>Cartlow will improve the platform\u2019s management of various services, including free delivery, returns, warranties, buy-backs and trade-ins.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are thrilled with our latest acquisition of Melltoo, further allowing consumers to transact on our platform in the region,\u201d said Mohammed Sleiman, founder and CEO of Cartlow.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThrough Cartlow\u2019s platform, Melltoo customers will be enabled with a range of products and a more convenient way to shop and sell preloved products.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Founded in 2019 as a re-commerce platform, Cartlow has since evolved into a technology company, also offering software-as-a-service solutions to retail companies.<\/p>\n<p>The company specialises in reverse logistics \u2013 the processing of returned products through the supply chain and their resale.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe provide retailers, distributors and sellers with the tools and technology to ensure an easy and convenient shopping experience for our customers,\u201d said Mr Sleiman.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur mission at Cartlow is always to provide the best-in-class experience to our customers within the re-commerce and reverse logistics landscape.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In keeping with its efforts to support the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/2022\/03\/23\/middle-east-consumers-value-sustainability-says-new-report\/\">circular economy<\/a> in the Middle East, Cartlow offers cloud-based technology to companies in the reverse logistics industry.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMore than two million products have been sold on our platform since we launched with a ground-breaking contribution of saving more than six million kilograms of e-waaste and 36 million kilograms of carbon emissions,\u201d Mr Sleiman added.<\/p>\n<p>In June, Cartlow secured $18 million in a financing round led by Saudi-based investor Al Sulaiman Group.<\/p>\n<p>The investment funds the platform plans to expand across the region and improve its technology to combine return management, recycling and re-commerce.<\/p>\n<p>The reverse logistics industry is expected to top $958 billion internationally, rising at an aggregate annual growth rate of 5.6 per cent from $635 billion in 2020, according to
