{"id":17973,"date":"2022-08-03T10:46:05","date_gmt":"2022-08-03T10:46:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/?p=17973"},"modified":"2022-08-03T19:30:24","modified_gmt":"2022-08-03T19:30:24","slug":"lulu-group-introduces-saudi-made-section-in-kingdoms-stores","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/2022\/08\/03\/lulu-group-introduces-saudi-made-section-in-kingdoms-stores\/","title":{"rendered":"LuLu Group introduces \u2018Saudi Made\u2019 section in kingdom\u2019s stores"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!-- VideographyWP Plugin Message: Automatic video embedding prevented by plugin options. --><br \/>\nThe LuLu Group has pledged that its Saudi Arabian hypermarkets and stores will stock locally sourced and produced grocery items in a \u2018Saudi Made\u2019 section.<\/p>\n<p>The pledge marks <a href=\"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/2022\/07\/29\/lulu-opens-concept-stores-in-abu-dhabi-and-dubai\/\">the group<\/a>\u2019s support of the local economy and agricultural business.<\/p>\n<p>The Saudi Made category showcases 1,134 products, including cooking oils, sparkling drinks, cake and dessert mixes and dates from 127 brands, and fresh fruits and vegetables from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/2022\/06\/10\/lulu-opens-27th-hypermarket-in-saudi-in-jeddahs-al-rawabi\/\">local farms<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are proud to show the range of Saudi Made products on the shelves of LuLu Hypermarket,\u201d said Shehim Muhammed, director of the LuLu Group\u2019s Saudi Arabian operations.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative is part of the kingdom\u2019s Saudi Made Programme, launched by the Saudi Exports Development Authority and the National Industrial Development and Logistics Programme.<\/p>\n<p>The Saudi Made Programme falls under the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/2022\/06\/08\/lulu-saudi-launches-e-receipts-across-saudi-arabia\/\">country<\/a>\u2019s Vision 2030, which seeks to create a vibrant society, thriving economy and ambitious nation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBy promoting Saudi Made products, we are contributing to food sustainability and local agribusiness and partnering with Saudi\u2019s leadership for the kingdom\u2019s Vision 2030 growth story,\u201d Mr Muhammed added.<\/p>\n<p>On July 31, the LuLu Group signed a memorandum of understanding with the Saudi Egg Producers\u2019 Association, which will see all LuLu stores across the kingdom stock eggs from Saudi Arabian poultry farms.<\/p>\n<p>The memorandum aligns with the grocery retailer\u2019s efforts to support the local economy and give better pricing to both its customers and the kingdom\u2019s poultry farmers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe believe that this memorandum of understanding clears the way to provide farm-fresh eggs to Saudi customers in the swiftest and most profitable way and one that supports Saudi Arabia\u2019s agribusiness,\u201d said Abdulaziz Al Sheikh, head of the association.<\/p>\n<p>The LuLu Group has released a booklet to highlight all Saudi Made products available.<\/p>\n<p>The group operates 27 branches in Saudi Arabia, with its most recent store having opened in Jeddah\u2019s Al Rawabi Area in June.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Grocery retailer pledges its support to Saudi Arabia&#8217;s economy by promoting locally sourced and produced items. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":39,"featured_media":17775,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[1323,1],"tags":[4014,2683,2127],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/17973"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/39"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=17973"}],"version-history":[{"count":3,"href":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/17973\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":17992,"href":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/17973\/revisions\/17992"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/17775"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=17973"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=17973"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=17973"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
