{"id":17338,"date":"2022-05-23T12:49:18","date_gmt":"2022-05-23T12:49:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/?p=17338"},"modified":"2022-07-23T07:55:23","modified_gmt":"2022-07-23T07:55:23","slug":"majid-al-futtaims-supermarket-cash-and-carry-hybrid-opens-in-egypt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/2022\/05\/23\/majid-al-futtaims-supermarket-cash-and-carry-hybrid-opens-in-egypt\/","title":{"rendered":"Majid Al Futtaim\u2019s supermarket-cash and carry hybrid opens in Egypt\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!-- VideographyWP Plugin Message: Automatic video embedding prevented by plugin options. --><br \/>\n<span data-contrast=\"auto\">Majid Al Futtaim, shopping centre developer and operator, opened its supermarket-cash and carry hybrid, Supeco, on May 10 at Egypt\u2019s AM Mall in 6th of October City.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Supeco, an offshoot of Carrefour, presents a traditional supermarket in a wholesaler warehouse setting, stocking fresh and frozen foods, everyday items and light household products at discounted prices and as part of promotional deals.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The store caters to wholesalers, retailers and walk-in customers.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Majid Al Futtaim plans to open four more Supeco stores across the country, including in the Delta and Upper Egypt, by the end of the year.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">At present, Carrefour operates 14 hypermarkets and 45 supermarkets across Egypt, seven of which opened last year.
