{"id":16829,"date":"2022-02-28T16:25:49","date_gmt":"2022-02-28T16:25:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/?p=16829"},"modified":"2022-06-12T19:40:32","modified_gmt":"2022-06-12T19:40:32","slug":"dubai-summer-surprises-dates-announced","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/2022\/02\/28\/dubai-summer-surprises-dates-announced\/","title":{"rendered":"Dubai Summer Surprises: dates announced\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!-- VideographyWP Plugin Message: Automatic video embedding prevented by plugin options. --><br \/>\n<span data-contrast=\"auto\">This year\u2019s Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) will run from Friday, July 1, to Sunday, September 4.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">A highlight of the UAE\u2019s retail calendar, the 10-week event sees huge discounts at malls, hotels, restaurants and entertainment centres.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Back for its 25<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">th<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> season, DSS also offers shoppers the chance to win cars, luxury items and cash rewards.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Last year, the Mercedes Mega Raffle was a competition highlight. An all-new 2021 Mercedes C200 and AED25,000 in cash were up for grabs, along with six Infinity Q50s each week.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Last year\u2019s event saw an increase in sales and footfall, boosted by<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> the 12 Hour Sale, DSS Flash Sale and DSS Final Sale, where discounts of 90 per cent were offered.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Nahkeel and Al Futtaim Malls reported higher visitor numbers, with Mercato Mall and Town Centre Jumeirah recording a 50 per cent increase.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The announcement of this year\u2019s DSS dates closely follows the 27<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">th<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> annual Dubai Shopping Festival, which ended on January 30.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Ahmad Al Khaja, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment, told <\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Gulf Business<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">: \u201cThe ongoing success of Dubai Shopping Festival and our wider retail calendar is testament to the unwavering support we receive year after year from our partners and sponsors.\u202f\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:true,&quot;134233118&quot;:true}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cDSF has now grown into an internationally acclaimed event that has raised the profile of Dubai as one of the best places to live in, work in and visit and I would like to extend my thanks to everyone involved in making the 27<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">th<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> edition truly memorable.\u202f<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:true,&quot;134233118&quot;:true}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cAs we look ahead to the rest of the year, we have aligned our calendar of retail events to the new weekend dates in the UAE to support sustainable growth across the retail sector.
