{"id":16718,"date":"2022-04-07T07:56:15","date_gmt":"2022-04-07T07:56:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/?p=16718"},"modified":"2022-06-12T19:50:59","modified_gmt":"2022-06-12T19:50:59","slug":"funko-opens-its-first-international-branch-in-dubai-hills-malls","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/2022\/04\/07\/funko-opens-its-first-international-branch-in-dubai-hills-malls\/","title":{"rendered":"Funko opens first international branch in Dubai Hills Mall"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!-- VideographyWP Plugin Message: Automatic video embedding prevented by plugin options. --><br \/>\n<span data-contrast=\"auto\">American-based pop culture retailer Funko has opened its first international franchise in Dubai Hills Mall.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Funko holds licensing rights to manufacture and sell products based on a number of well-known brands, including Star Wars, Harry Potter, DC Comics, Marvel, America\u2019s National Basketball Association and more. <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Its products include vinyl figures, board games, action toys and figurines, plush, apparel, houseware and various accessories.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The opening in the region marks the company\u2019s venture into international markets after its success last year, recording $1.029 billion in sales.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cThe opening of Funko\u2019s first franchise location in the metropolitan city of Dubai is a significant step in expanding our channel network outside of the United States,\u201d said Andy Oddie, managing director of Funko\u2019s Europe, Middle East and Africa division.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cThe growth we are experiencing across the world is clearly indicative of the extraordinary demand for our products.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cBy introducing stores outside of the U.S., we are creating a unique shopping destination for Funko fans and pop culture enthusiasts,\u201d Mr Oddie said.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Among products stocked at Funko\u2019s Dubai Hills Mall branch are Funko Pop!
