{"id":16700,"date":"2022-03-01T07:04:49","date_gmt":"2022-03-01T07:04:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/?p=16700"},"modified":"2022-06-12T19:41:12","modified_gmt":"2022-06-12T19:41:12","slug":"carrefour-launches-first-sustainable-bio-store","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.meretailnews.com\/2022\/03\/01\/carrefour-launches-first-sustainable-bio-store\/","title":{"rendered":"Carrefour launches first sustainable BIO store"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!-- VideographyWP Plugin Message: Automatic video embedding prevented by plugin options. --><br \/>\n<span data-contrast=\"none\">Carrefour has opened its first BIO store in City Centre Me\u2019aisem, Dubai, which features the retailer\u2019s first cafe and in-store hydroponic farm.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Focusing on organic shopping, locally sourced products and sustainability, the store sells a selection of fruit and vegetables from organic-certified farms, poultry and meat with no added hormones, organic-fed fish, a range of vegan, keto and dairy-free products, and<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> ecologically conscious products, including beauty, personal and home care items.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">It also supports small and medium-size enterprises, and stocks a range of locally made products.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">And in keeping with Carrefour\u2019s goal to eliminate single-use plastic by 2025, only recyclable paper bags are used. Shoppers can even bring their own containers to fill with detergents and water.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Tables and shelves are made from recycled wooden pallets, and digital price tags accessible via Wi-Fi have replaced paper labels.
