Via Riyadh, a new luxury shopping and entertainment district in Riyadh, is scheduled to open its doors to the public on May 11.
Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority, Turki Al-Sheikh, said that the Via Riyadh zone will include luxurious shops and restaurants.
The new district is part of a wider initiative under the Saudi Vision 2030 plan to modernise the country and develop its entertainment and shopping sector to help diversify the economy.
Opening the prestigious shopping destination in the Saudi capital city is expected to be a landmark initiative in the Kingdom’s journey in the entertainment sector for the year 2023.
Via Riyadh was inaugurated by Turki Al-Sheikh in January this year ahead of its formal opening to the public. In its shopping area, Via Riyadh will feature 22 luxury stores and an international food market.
The opening ceremony will showcase the new zone, which took 20 months to build.
According to a report by market research company IMARC Group, published on April 13, Saudi Arabia can soon emerge as the top luxury destination of the Middle East.
The Group expects the segment to reach $15.8 billion by 2028, growing at a compound annual growth rate of 11.6 per cent between this year and 2028.
