As a result of the ‘Big City Centre Vote’ initiative, Majid Al Futtaim has launched a pop-up store Sneakers Lab at its City Centre Mirdif in Dubai.
Located at the mall’s Central Galleria, Sneakers Lab will feature limited-edition sneakers in the UAE, including Nike Dunks, Retro Jordans, Adidas and Yeezys.
It will also house the latest streetwear apparel, accessories and other collectables from international brands such as Supreme, Essentials, Anti Social Social Club and Drew.
Visitors of the pop-up can also customise and clean their sneakers at a shoe care lab.
Sneakers Lab by City Centre Mirdif is part of the mall’s spring/summer fashion campaign.
The mall’s pop-up store, operated by HypeSelection, follows Majid Al Futtaim’s ‘Big City Centre Vote’ which launched in March 2022 – a survey conducted across hundreds of people to better understand what the community is looking for in its mall destinations. Key members of various social groups expressed the desire for more unique concepts and experiences binding the community together.
Managing director of Majid Al Futtaim Properties’ UAE Shopping Malls division, Fuad Sharaf, said: “Through this ongoing campaign, we are giving our communities a seat at the boardroom table and enabling them to give us the insights and feedback we need to create ideal future mall spaces.
The vote has surveyed shoppers across City Centre Deira, City Centre Mirdif and City Centres’ online channels (City Centre Deira, City Centre Mirdif, City Centre Al Zahia).
“We are continuing to host several community groups to truly enable customers to express their needs and look forward to reporting back as we take these results and implement them to create customised City Centres,” added Mr Sharaf.
