Dubai to host e-commerce conference

The Marketplace & D2C Conference for e-commerce businesses is set to take place in Dubai on March 7. 

The event aims to promote exchanges of experience between global and regional experts working in marketplaces and D2C e-commerce in the Mena region. 

The Conference will be organised by e-commerce analytics tools Sellematics & Sellscreen.io and held in partnership with the Dubai-based grocery delivery YallaMarket which is part of YallaHub.            

CEO and co-founder of YallaMarket and YallaHub, Leo Dovbenko, said: “It’s an honour for us to participate in and be a partner of the Marketplace & D2C Conference 2023, which will unlock new possibilities for startups, investors and everybody who has a passion for marketplaces and D2C e-commerce in the Mena region.”

The Middle East’s digital economy set to hit $500 billion in 2030, and D2C sales in the UAE alone grew by 24.3 per cent in 2021. Meanwhile, the UAE e-commerce market to reach $9.2bn by 2026.

As such, the event will bring together more than 350 leaders and professionals across Mena e-commerce industry with international expertise who will shed light on the latest innovation in the retail sector.

The main speakers of the summit are head of e-commerce of Lenovo, Ishneet Kaur; top-seller on Noon.ae and Amazon.ae with revenues of more than $10 million, Ali Shah Bukhari; CEO and co-founder of YallaMarket & YallaHub, Leo Dovbenko; CEO and co-founder of Sellematics and Sellscreen.io, Daria Tkachenko; vice president of Apparel Group, Anshuman Anand; and digital and e-commerce general manager at Al-Futtaim, Jonathan Flender.

Attendees are expected to learn in depth about the analytics, advertising and promotion on marketplaces and D2C channels in the Mena region, and the main challenges the industry is facing in 2023. 

“The Mena Marketplace & D2C Conference comes at a challenging time as the global economy stands in the face of ongoing challenges. We believe that together we could gain and discuss insights on key trends influencing e-commerce not only in the Mena, but all around the globe,” added Mr Dovbenko.
