UAE-based Lulu Hypermarket has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) in Dubai to jointly promote millets in the GCC region.

The memorandum was inked in the presence of the ambassador of India to UAE.

APEDA has entered this collaboration with Lulu Group to further popularise millet products and value-added products around the world during the International Year of Millet 2023.

This move is hoped to facilitate promotional activities for millet products and allow the country to display millets and their value-added products, ready-to-eat products in international retail chains sourced from places like FPOs, FPCs, SC, ST, women entrepreneurs, start-ups and new entrepreneurs, providing these products with a platform for publicity in importing countries.

For its part, APEDA will assist manufacturers in sending various millet product samples to Lulu Hypermarkets. Lulu Group will make it easier to showcase various millet-based products in its hypermarkets, including ready-to-eat and ready-to-serve millet products.
