Majid Al Futtaim announces mall of the Metaverse

Mall of the Metaverse is set to open its doors in Dubai.

UAE retailer Majid Al Futtaim made the announcement was made on the sidelines of the World Government Summit in Dubai, which is taking place from February 13 to 15.

The Metaverse mall will be a virtual shopping mall and be home to the retail giant in the Decentraland universe, located at coordinates 95,21.

Decentraland is a blockchain-based virtual world where individuals and businesses can create, experience, and monetise their own content.

Users in Decentraland can create and trade their own virtual assets, such as land and digital art, as well as engage in a variety of activities within the world, ranging from gaming to socialising.

Majid Al Futtaim’s Mall of the Metaverse will feature virtual Carrefour, That Concept Store, Ghawali, and Samsung stores, as well as a VOX cinema space.

More brands are expected to enter the virtual reality metaverse space in the near future.
