Middle East’s luxury retail sector is set for sustainable growth over next decade, Alpha Nero reveals

Luxury brands pursuing innovative and green solutions are bound to transform the shopping ecosystem, according to the estimates of Alpha Nero, one of the most prominent design and shop fit-out manufacturing companies in the Middle East.

The company reveals its forecasts for the Middle East’s luxury retail sector over the next decade, prompted by the surging demand from the world’s top luxury brands as more shopping malls and touristic destinations plan to launch in the upcoming years.

Founder and managing partner of Alpha Nero, Simon Hacker, said: “The GCC is emerging as the world’s top tourist and financial hub, and the region is already hosting the largest international events such as EXPO 2020, Fifa World Cup 2022 and the World Government Summit. We are witnessing an increasing demand from luxury brands to expand their presence as the number of visitors to the region will grow at a steady pace over the next decade.”

The UAE has become saturated with millionaires and high-net-worth individuals, according to recent financial reports. By the end of this year, the UAE is expecting to welcome more than 4,000 millionaires from around the globe who seek investment opportunities.

During the last few years, the industry has actively promoted automation, artificial intelligence, augmented reality, big data and sustainability. This agglomeration of factors has tremendously altered the shopping experience by prioritising convenience.

Established in 2014 with only eight employees, the company has rapidly expanded its operations to cover more than 45 countries, with one of the largest portfolios of luxury brands in the industry. The company operates various high-end labels like Armani, Dior, Dolce & Gabbana, Elie Saab, Gucci and Tag Heuer.
