Lenskart’s eighth store in UAE opens at Galleria Mall in Abu Dhabi

Indian eyewear brand Lenskart has unveiled its eighth location in the UAE at Abu Dhabi’s Galleria Mall.

The new outlet is part of Lenskart’s $50 million Middle Eastern investment for an intense expansion of its brick-and-mortar footprint in the area.

Lenskart’s CBO for the Middle East, Sudhir Syal, said: Within our first year of in-country operations, we project that Lenskart will become a market leader in the UAE, with over 15 stores in addition to making rampant strides in the KSA region.

“As our rampant growth and expansion continue, we will focus on the launch of our merchandise collections created specifically to cater to the local Emirati population.”

The new outlet offers free on-site eye tests for customers in need of prescription glasses. In addition, the store incorporates several interactive elements, such as a ‘sun room’ – a space which is illuminated with artificial sun rays to allow customers to gauge the effectiveness of the models when exposed to natural sunlight.

Lenskart’s other stores in the UAE are located in Dubai Mall, Burjuman, Dalma Mall, Dubai Festival City, Ibn Battuta Mall, Dubai Hills Mall and Bawadi Mall.

In July, the brand announced its intentions to open 20 stores in the UAE by March.

“Lenskart is expanding its retail stores exponentially and we will continue to do so in the coming two-three years which will increase our brand’s footprint. Moreover, we are strengthening our omnichannel at all stores so we can continue to offer our customers a more efficient and smarter shopping experience,” said Sunil Menon, chief retail expansion officer at Lenskart.

In summer, to reinforce its e-commerce prowess, Lenskart teamed up with the region’s leading online shopping destination Noon.com.
