7 questions with…Payal Mirchandani

What is the best way to start your day?

Firstly, I start with a ghee coffee. Being spiritual at heart, I spend the next hour focusing on connecting with myself.  Depending on what is going on in my head, I use any number of the following – meditation, mantra chanting, gratitude, exercise, journaling and affirmations – to feel my best for the day ahead. I also get bored with routine easily, so no two days will be the same.

If you could be any character from a movie, who would you be?

Rey from Star Wars because she’s a survivor. Not being able to see her worthiness, the Force pushes her to discover her true strength within.

What is your greatest achievement?

Having come from a highly dysfunctional family dynamic and an emotionally traumatic past, I never ever in my wildest dream thought I would be in Dubai, married for the past 15 years, raising two kids and my pets, loving and living a happy, peaceful and best life.

What advice would you give your 13-year-old self?

Take the time to discover your passion and strengths. You cannot control others and their actions. You can only control yourself, your expectations and your reactions. So, know your worth and find your happiness within.

If you had 24 hours left on Earth, what would you do?

I would want to spend time with my loved ones and tell them how thankful I am for them. I would say sorry, too, and ask for forgiveness from anyone I need to. I would make sure all my affairs are in order. The last few hours, I would spend in meditation and prayer, so I can leave peacefully and in acceptance.

Who or what is your biggest inspiration?

My children and awareness of death because we are mortal and time is limited on this planet.

What would you like to achieve in the next 10 years?

I have spent the last 10 years building Pinca. In the next 10 years, I want to use Pinca to do social good, for children, humanity in general and for the planet. I also want to share my wins, learnings and mistakes on my entrepreneurial journey with other entrepreneurs to inspire, educate and motivate.
