7 questions with…Yunib Siddiqui

Yunib Siddiqui is CEO of Jones the Grocer. Established 25 years ago in Australia, Jones the Grocer has 27 stores across the Middle East. Jones the Grocer is a food emporium featuring speciality food retail, a signature walk-in cheese room, a charcuterie, bakery, patisserie and deli set within an award-winning café.

What is the best way to start your day?

A 2.5 km walk followed by 30 minutes of yoga. Five minutes of meditation. Then, a well-brewed cup of tea with a toasted multi-grain and acai berry jam from Jones the Grocer, of course!

If you could be any character from a movie, who would you be?

James Bond, who doesn’t?

What is your greatest achievement?

Marrying my wife and raising three boys to men.

What advice would you give your 13-year-old self?

Keep a diary. I’ve forgotten so much.

If you had 24 hours left on Earth, what would you do?

Nature, somewhere stunningly beautiful. I’d probably ease my way to the end with Psylocibins.

Who or what is your biggest inspiration?

I don’t really look at inspiration as something static. I am constantly inspired by simple, everyday things. Inspiration, for me at least, can be glimpsed in anything.

What would you like to achieve in the next 10 years

I’d like to write a book of short stories.
