Abu Dhabi-based retailer Liwa is launching six OVS stores across Dubai.
The first will open at The Dubai Mall this month, followed by Silicon Central, Deira City Centre, Dubai Outlet Mall, Dubai Hills Mall and Ibn Battuta Mall.
All six stores will be open by February.
Italian brand OVS, the largest clothing retailer in Italy, entered the UAE market through a partnership with Liwa Trading Enterprises back in 2018, opening a store in Abu Dhabi Mall.
Founded in Venice in 1972, the brand specialises in clothes, shoes and accessories for children and adults.
“With the increasing excitement from our consumers to be able to shop for their favourite items, we wanted to open more locations to offer our customers more convenient and easy shopping possibilities,” said marketing manager of Liwa trading enterprises David Hall.
“We are proud of everything Liwa and OVS have accomplished so far and continue to be committed to the brand and its growth potential within the UAE.”
As part of its sustainability commitment, OVS claims to manufacture 67 per cent of its collections with recyclable textiles, uses minimal packaging and promises to swap polyester for alternative biodegradable fabrics by 2030.
Last year, the group’s sales amounted to €1,359 million, a 33,4 per cent increase compared with 2020.
Liwa Trading Enterprises houses 250 stores throughout the GCC, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar, and operates 200 international brands in more than 40 countries.
