7 questions with…Ana Elisa Seixas

Ana Elisa Seixas is marketing manager at ASICS Arabia, a designer, manufacturer and retailer of high-performance athletic footwear, apparel and accessories. Founded in Japan back in 1949, ASICS has lined its promotional strategy with various sports and targeted leading international sports events. Last year, to mark the start of the fifth edition of Dubai Fitness Challenge, ASICS collaborated with Dubai Economy and Tourism to launch the city-inspired Gel Kayano 28 running shoes.

What is the best way to start your day?

Waking up to my kid jumping on my bed saying, ‘good morning’ and then making breakfast together. It’s such a simple act, but one that really kickstarts my day on a high in the best possible way.

If you could be any character from a movie, who would you be?

This may be a very peculiar choice, but I personally love Julie Andrews from The Sound of Music. She’s always smiling and always seeing life through a positive lens, despite all the challenges. The ability to make people around her feel better through her presence and her amazing voice is brilliant.

What is your greatest achievement?

I am grateful and blessed to say that I have many things in my life that I am proud of, from opening my own retail business a few years back to being recognized for my sustainability work with an industry award.  However, heading ASICS’ collaboration with Dubai Tourism and Dubai Fitness Challenge to create the first running shoe exclusively designed for a city is a highlight that I will never forget.

What advice would you give your 13-year-old self?

Be kind to yourself and always strive for a Sound Mind in a Sound Body. As a selfless perfectionist, it took me a while to understand that taking care of yourself is as important as taking care of others.

If you had 24 hours left on Earth, what would you do?

I would gather all my friends and family and would spend the day at my favourite beach in Portugal, celebrating being together, and enjoying the ocean and the beach dunes.

Who or what is your biggest inspiration?

My parents and my grandparents. Their hard work, their kindness, and their perseverance through hard times and challenges, have always been a beacon of light in my life.

What would you like to achieve in the next 10 years?

Oh my, the list is quite long! I would say being the best mum I can be to my son is on the top of that list; followed by continuing to grow ASICS brand presence in the region and promoting Sound Mind Sound Body philosophy, encouraging the community to live uplifted through the positive impacts of sports.
