Talabat partners with 14 Spinneys stores in Egypt

Talabat has partnered with Spinneys in Egypt, offerings customers delivery from 14 of the grocery retailer’s stores in the country.

Shoppers across Sheikh Zayed, 6th of October City, Al Haram, New Cairo, Maadi, Mokattam, Nasr City, Sherouk City and Alexandria can order from Spinneys using the platform’s website or mobile application.

“As an established retailer serving millions of Egyptians every day since 1924, we are excited to be joining the talabat platform as we aim to bring Spinneys even closer to customers through diverse channels,” said Mahmoud El Gaml, director of Spinneys’ e-commerce operations.

“We are looking forward to serving the highest standards of quality, service and value to the platform’s multimillion customer base across the country.”

Spinneys operates 20 stores across eight cities in Egypt and employs over 2,000 people.

Talabat recently added grocery retailers Gourmet, BIM and Beit El Gomla to its brand portfolio.

As part of its growth strategy, the platform is also partnered with florists and electronic stores, delivering their products to customers across 20 cities.

“At talabat, we work continuously to enhance our product categories and better fulfil our customers’ everyday needs,” said Nevine El Far, head of talabat’s non-food division in Egypt.

“Partnering with a mega chain such as Spinneys is another step taken towards delivering an amazing experience and leveraging technology to virtually connect customers with businesses.”

Last year, Talabat donated $2.2 million to numerous non-profit organisations and 900,000 meals to individuals and communities in need across the Middle East.

Egypt’s e-commerce market amounted to $700 billion last year and is expected to rise to $1.2 trillion by 2025, according to market research firm Statista.

The Middle East’s on-demand online grocery shopping industry is estimated to be worth $20 billion by the end of 2024.
