In celebration of India’s 75th Independence Day, the LuLu Group has launched its India Utsav festival, which showcases Indian culture, commerce and cuisine, across 235 LuLu Hypermarkets in the GCC.

Shoppers can find promotions and offers on more than 10,000 Indian products across numerous categories, including fresh fruit and vegetables, meat, seafood, grocery products, lifestyle and fashion.

“After two years of challenging times, the shopping industry is making a strong comeback and we want to make sure that shoppers get everything they need for the festive season at the most affordable prices,” said V. Nandakumar, director of marketing and communications at the LuLu Group.

The group also offers premium gift packages, elements for cultural rituals, ethnic wear and traditional food products, including Indian sweets, sadhyas and thalis for pre-order.

Hypermarkets house dedicated stalls to showcase Indian products, such as handicrafts, items from Kashmir and products from organic personal care brand Khadi.

“Every year, we organise special events to showcase the beauty and diversity of Indian culture through festivals like ‘India Utsav’ as customary to our hypermarket’s brand identity,” said Salim M. A., director of the LuLu Group.

“This is our humble tribute to the glorious tradition, food and offerings of India wherein we have exerted great efforts to introduce a new range of products from our own sourcing offices across India.”

The LuLu Group has partnered with Indian media house Zee TV to offer shoppers discounts on subscriptions to ZEE5, South Asian streaming service.

Shoppers spending at least AED500 at LuLu stores can receive a free one-month subscription or a 50 per cent discount on an annual subscription.

Those who spend over AED1,000 can receive a free annual subscription to the service for one year.

The group will continue to host promotions until the end of October in celebration of numerous Indian festivals, including Onam, Navrathri and Diwali.
